Pathology and Clinical Practice

Haodong Xu received his MD, MS, and PhD from Suzhou Medical College. He subsequently completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine, and a fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. He is currently Professor of Head and Neck and Cardiothoracic Pathology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. In addition, his interests also include molecular mechanisms of lung, head and neck tumors, and fibrosing interstitial pneumonia, and his basic research is focused on delineating the regulation mechanisms of voltage-gated cardiac ion channels.

Dr. Doxakis Anestakis he has a University Degree in Medicine from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.TH) and Bachelor Degree in Medical Laboratories from Technological Institute of Thessaloniki (T.E.I.TH). Also, he has a Master Degree in Health Care Management from Open University of Cyprus and a PhD in Medicine from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (I was taken a scholarship to undertake the PhD thesis of the "Heraclitus II - Funding for doctoral research. NSRF 2007 – 2013"). He is specialist in Pathology and also in the operation of Biobanks. From January 2014 I am a Chairman of the Management Board of the Panhellenic Biobank from Neurological Diseases (Hellas Neuro-Bio) after elections. The purpose of the Association is: 1) support and promote scientific and research activity in the field of neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. 2) The organization and function in cooperation with other university, hospital , research and scientific institutions PanHellenic biobanks neurological diseases that will include: • Department of brain tissue • Department of Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) • Department of Blood • Department of Genetics (DNA-RNA) for use and assistance of medical and general scientific and research community. 3) The promotion of posthumous donation of body organs for research purposes. 4) promotion of cooperation between scientific and research organizations in the field of neurodegenerative and neurological diseases in general. 5) The humanitarian, social, voluntary support of mental health and dementia and in particular those suffering from degenerative diseases (Alzheimer, Frontotemporal Dementia, Vascular Dementia, Dementia with particles Lewy, dementia in Parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative and neurological diseases in general). From 2009 until today I am a Research Associate in the Laboratory of Medical Biology of School of Medicine in A.U.TH., where I train the students of Medicine and Dentistry School, in Biology and Genetic (438 hours). From 2014 until today I am salaried Post-doctoral Associate at the Medical School of A.U.TH. In the organization and operation of biobanks. Also, from September 2014 until September 2015 I am a Research Associate in the Laboratory of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology in Medical School in A.U.TH. where I train the students of Medicine School, in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology (10 hours). From July 2015 until today I am a Teaching & Research Fellow in Laboratory of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of Medical School in A.U.TH. He has participated in 200 National and International Congresses and I have announced 190 abstracts in International and Greek Conferences. I have published of 31 Scientific Papers, 30 in Internationally Recognized Journals and 1 in Greek Journals (Total IF: 32,668 – Citations: 181).

Douglas J. Fiore, Ph.D. was named the 3rd President of Mercy College of Health Sciences by the Mercy College Board of Directors. Fiore began his new role as President of the College on June 10, 2018, after working with retiring President Barbara Quijano Decker in a period of onboarding to enable a seamless transition. Fiore’s selection followed an extensive, national search conducted by Greenwood/Asher & Associates, Inc., a national higher education executive search firm which provided support to the President’s Campus Search Committee. Darryl, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), joins the college following recently earning his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Darryl has worked as a Nurse Anesthetist since 1998 in Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington State. Darryl will lead the college’s DNP program, which prepares nurse practitioners and population health nurses. The program is offered through the college at three sites- Spokane, Vancouver, and most recently, Tri-Cities, Washington.

Masahiro Onuma has expertise in oxidative disease prevention to use non-medical product based on GSK’s experience of Allopurinol which is the strongest anti-oxidant efficacy in this world. He creates new indication of Allopurinol for stomatitis induced by cancer treatment which was approved by the Japanese Cancer treatment committee to propose new mechanism of Allopurinol for anti-oxidant. And now, there are so many new research papers of Allopurinol in the world.

Sinisa Franjic live in Osijek, Croatia. Primary and two secondary schools ended in Osijek, and graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Split. Thesis entitled "Legal aspects of information systems" was defended Summa Cum Laude and he become LLM of Law. Since 1992., he work as a journalist - freelance contributor to the first Radio Osijek of HRT (Croatian Radio Television), and then something shorter, among other media, he work for HTV - TV center Osijek, weekly "Školske novine (School Newspaper)“ and the monthly "Super Kino Video (Super Cinema Video)". In the academic year 2009./2010., Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Osijek (today Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek) he was appointed of part time assistant on the course "Computer Criminality". With Computer Criminality, he is studying a Medical Law and a few other legal disciplines. In Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Osijek he was participated in teaching of the courses "Computer Criminality" and "Legal Regulations in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science" and in the Faculty of Medicine in Osijek he participated in teaching of the courses "Social and Health Legislation" and "Medicine and Health Law". The successful defense of the doctoral dissertation on the topic from criminal law called "The Criminal Justice and Forensic Aspects of Computer Criminality", he received a PhD degree from the Faculty of Law of the International University of Brcko District in Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Prof. Hamdan Mansour has completed his PhD in Nursing in 2004 from the University of Pittsburgh, PA/USA. Currently, he is a professor of psychiatric nursing at School of Nursing, The University of Jordan. Has more 25 years of experience in psychiatric nursing education and research. Area of research focus is mental health promotion, substance use disorder, psychosomatic disorders, mental health and psychosocial wellbeing, youth mental health, community mental health, and women and child abuse. Has several national and international research awards and recognitions and served as consultant for several national projects related to community health development, mental health and psychosocial health.
